 Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarokatuh

Hello everyone, how are you doing now?  I hope you always do positive things.  Oh yes, let's be very grateful to our God because the current pandemic condition has reduced, but we must keep vigilance to keep wearing masks, always wash our hands after handling anything and use hand sanitizer to kill bacterial germs.  We must maintain our health in any condition because health is very important, if our body is healthy then we can do our activities well.

This is my fourth blog in English For Journalism this semester.  This time as usual I will share what activities I do and what lessons I have learned at this fourth meeting on September 21, 2021.

Let's discuss one by one

At that time there was no virtual meeting and we continued to work on the quizzes available at LMS Syam-ok.  One of the tasks is to make podcasts in the form of audio.  Then I made a podcast about the important to learning English. After creating a podcast, continue to watch a video about choosing a topic.

"Considering topic and turning it into an idea"

 A topic is subject or an issue. Choosing topic that we are interested in. After decide on a topic, we have to narrow it down to an idea to make something smaller. Any three of the most common: 

1. Type

2. Place 

3. Time

The next material is about Researching an idea

Talked about news stories which is exactly sounds like it's an article and the simplest and shortest type of the story.  

1. A news story should be objective and not include the journalist's opinions. 

2. Investigatives journalism is a longer article or news segment that uncovers new information on a large topic that affects the public. 

3. Sources investigative journalism choose to be anonymous . 

4. Human interest is a longer article that focuses on a person as a way of talking about a current event. This type of story brings an emotional side to a large issue and it could give a voice to the voiceless related to the journalist principle.

Next material is about Pitching a story

The process of newspapers and magazines go through where picking what stories to print. Journalist give a pitch which is a short description of the story. The purpose of the pitch is to sell this idea to the editor. A newspaper should have mass appeal meaning citizens of all ages backgrounds levels should be interested of some newspapers or articles.

The last material is about pitching a radio script. 

Journalists must need to think about two things when pitches a radio script. 

1. Structure which means the relationship between the parts of something are in it and how are they ordered in a radio pitch should contain a summary or questions of the story, the name of people who are going to be interviewed and link to current event and also explanation why the story is important. 

2. Approach which is means the way that a journalist do something. That are two ways to do: a. Summarizing the story in the first sentencen and 2. Establishing connection to the story.

The purpose of a pitch is to convince or persuade people that is an interesting of the story.

Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarokatuh Hello everyone, how are you?  I hope well.  On November 30th, 2021, the day my class is studying English for journalism.  The activities that our class does that we held a virtual meeting with Miss Novy using the Microsoft Teams application to present the power point that was made last week.   Tuesday, May 25, 2021 Topic : "Discussion Meeting" Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarokatuh..   Hello everyone, this time my blog is different from the previous one because in this blog I only tell a little about the intercultural communication meeting which only discusses preparation for the final exam.  This time our meeting was through Microsoft Teams 365. To be honest, this is a new thing for me in using Microsoft, there are some obstacles when I want to enter the 365 website, and in my opinion it's easier to enter into the LMS syam-ok.  That's because I'm used to using LMS syam-ok, but that's okay, I will continue to learn to use Microsoft 365 because it has many benefits and makes it easier for Miss to record our meetings, besides that there are many other benefits.   Another advantage of this Microsft Teams is that it makes it easy to Miss to see who comes to join on time and who is late, then it will be seen if someone comes in and out of the room...
