Blog meet 2

 Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahi Wabarokatuh..

Hello guys, how are you?  hope it's fine.  By the way, this is my second blog in this English for Journalism course.  Oh, those of you who got the link to my blog this week, surely you are already familiar with the word journalism because in my first blog there was an explanation about journalism.

For those who like to ask, why do you often write activities on a blog?  the answer is because writing on a blog is fun, like telling stories about all useful activities and then publishing them via blog links and later on they will be read and even given comments as suggestions or responses by other people who receive or click on this link.  Even better because we can share our stories, knowledge, experiences and other activities with just a blog link to the media we want or even just a few people through our blog link.  So no need to write at length in social media status, because it will take up a lot of space.  Oh yes, my blog is only to share knowledge and stories about our activities, not to indulge in anything unimportant.

So now to the point.  On this second blog, as usual I will tell what I have learned and got in the second week of the lesson meeting.

On September 7, 2021, our class had a meeting with Miss Novy using the Microsoft Teams application.  In the meeting there were several important presentations related to the lecture contract for this semester.  All of these contract points are very important and mutually influence attendance, active participation, doing assignments, quizzes, projects, mid and final semesters.  I hope I can pass this course well and the knowledge I get is useful, amen.

After discussing the lecture contract, we were given some assignments in the LMS syam-ok.  The assignment is about the history of journalism pre-1690 and the history of journalism present day.

There are two videos there which contain the topic of the history of journalism.

The conclusion of the first video topic about the history of journalism pre 1690, namely:

"Introduction to the history of journalism pre-1690"

In this video, discuss about the origins of journalism for the beginings and talk ways in which was originally used by governments to show the news of their messages.  First time during the times people received the news of the Roman Empire around 130 BCE before the year zero. People can read about births, deaths, marriages and the results of legal trials from the public places such as market square. For over a thousand years people got the news this way until a german man called johanes gutenberg invented a machine is called printing press. A machine can created many pages of text very quickly. At that time the government issued news stories that were published so that the public could read them.  but the government still controls what people write.

The conclusion of the second topic video about the history of journalism present day, namely:

"History of journalism - 1690 - present day"

In the video discuss about how journalism became more independet  and free from government control and also talk about different ways that people get there. In the 18th century, governments still controlled what people wrote. People began to believe in a free press. In USA in 1722 Benjamin Franklin becomes editor of the the new England Courant. In the 1787 Edmurd Burke The Fourth Estate was making a speech about three parts of government called the three estate. In 1791 Bill of Rights in the U.S. constitution granted freedom of press became law. Any 10 amandement, the first is the freedom of religion. In 1835 The New York Herald was started with the providing unbiased news and also tried to be politically independent. In 1850s newspapers moved from local to national. In 1900s this involved a journalist to writing about powerful people and industries. In 1920s the news compete on the radio. In 1950s television became popular.

Ok guys, I think that's all of history and knowledge that I can shared, if you wanna give me suggestion or something like that, please write in coment.

Thankyou
